Transparency

Transparency in government is not just a buzzword—it is the cornerstone of a functioning democracy and a principle I hold dear as I run for the United States House of Representatives, representing the 1st District. In an era where trust in our political institutions is at an all-time low, I believe it is essential to restore faith in government through open, honest, and accountable leadership.

As an Republican candidate, I am committed to bringing a new level of transparency to our state and county. For too long, decisions that affect our lives have been made behind closed doors, without adequate input from the very people those decisions impact. This has led to policies that often serve special interests rather than the public good. It’s time for a change.

Here’s how I plan to promote transparency in our government:

1. Open Meetings and Public Access

I will push for all government meetings, especially those where significant decisions are being made, to be open to the public and accessible online. The people have a right to see how their representatives are conducting business, and I will work to ensure that transparency is the rule, not the exception.

2. Financial Transparency

Campaign contributions and government spending should be fully transparent. I will advocate for stricter disclosure requirements for all campaign donations and lobbying activities. Additionally, I will push for a detailed, publicly accessible records of how every taxpayer dollar is spent, so you know exactly where your money is going.

3. Regular Communication

As your US House member, I will maintain an open line of communication with the people of all of our beautiful state. I commit to holding regular town hall meetings and providing timely updates on the legislative process. Your feedback will be crucial to my decision-making, and I will actively seek it out.

4. Accountability

Transparency is meaningless without accountability. I will support measures that hold public officials accountable for their actions, including stronger ethics laws and independent oversight. Public service should be about serving the people, not personal gain.

5. Transparency in Lawmaking

Legislation should not be passed without proper debate and public input. I will advocate for a more transparent legislative process, where bills are thoroughly reviewed and debated in public, giving citizens the opportunity to understand and weigh in on the laws that affect them.

West Virginians deserve leaders who are upfront and honest, who will fight for their interests and not for hidden agendas. I am running for the US House of Representatives to be that kind of leader—one who is committed to transparency, accountability, and putting the people first.

Together, we can build a government that works for everyone, not just the privileged few. I ask for your support and your vote in this important election. Let’s bring transparency and common sense back to the forefront in order to restore trust in our government.
